About Stars from Care
Stars from care vzw is an organisation that works selflessly to give employees from the care and welfare sectors the recognition they deserve.
The organisation pursues its objectives through various actions and events. For instance, through this website, we offer a memorial site for mourned employees from the broad care sector. But other local, national and international actions will also be developed to promote employees from the care and welfare sectors.
In 2020, Stars from Care vzw was founded by Geert Berden and Koen Mathijs. We would like to introduce them …
When Geert Berden is not organizing events for Stars from Care vzw, he is working as a nurse at Sint-Trudo Hospital. So he experiences daily the challenges caregivers face in the workplace. With this non-profit organization, he wants to offer caregivers a shoulder to lean on. More than that, Stars from Care should be a listening ear for those who cry out for help. Finally, he also believes that caregivers, and especially deceased caregivers, deserve remembrance and recognition.
Do you have questions about the non-profit or would you like to discuss an idea to support the care sector? Feel free to give Geert a call!
Unlike Geert, Koen Mathijs is not active in the healthcare sector. He deals with Cybersecurity on a daily basis. In 2020, Koen lost his father (and ambulance driver) Eddy Mathijs to the effects of a Covid infection. Koen set out to give his father the recognition he deserved and that’s how he came in contact with Geert. Not much later, Stars from Care was founded. With the non-profit organization, he wants to inform and activate people to improve the situation in the care sector.
Koen is always open to a conversation about the welfare of caregivers. So don’t hesitate to send an email!
