Bruno was working as a nurse with the then Zaventem Fire Department and had been called to an accident on the Ring Road at night with colleague Jos Lisson (now retired). While crossing to bring victims to safety, things went wrong and Bruno was hit by a van on a slight curve. He was rendered hopeless and died instantly. His death prompted the use of signalization vans in interventions on public roads. While Bruno spent his whole life helping his fellow man, he continues to do so daily after his death. Because thanks to the signalization vehicle, many accidents have undoubtedly been avoided.”
